The Coin

I’m thinking of making a Coin. One side will read, “ Never trust in Coincidence”

The other side will read, “ Always trust in Coincidence”

One side will be black. The other side will be white. That’s the next dilemma. In some cultures Black means Yes and White means No. In others White means Yes and Black means No.

So which side of The Coin will be Black and which side will be White?

This gives rise to the next question. Which is mightier; the Sun or the Moon?

Some say – the Sun, for his light is consistent, predictable and ever present.

Others say – the Moon, for through the art of reflection she transmogrifies his light. She alone posses the power of transformation.

“Only by maintaining the tension of opposites dose the third thing arise – Transformation.”

So which side of The Coin will bare the image of the Sun, and which side of The Coin will bare the image of the Moon?

The Sun may say, “Never trust in Coincidence” I am the constant you seek.

Then the Moon would say, “Always trust in Coincidence” Together we will master the art of change.

If the Sun said, “Always trust in Coincidence” his message is,” If you make the wrong decision you’ll always have me to rely on.”

Then the Moon would say, “Never trust in Coincidence” I’ll do all the changing for us.”

How would you arrange these elements?

Myself I have not yet decided. It is as if, in order to answer these questions,

I need The Coin before I’ve made The Coin.

What a beautiful mobius shaped paradox.

If I choose poorly and cast them incorrectly, my entire life may be turned upside down and inside out. Na, the entire World may go asunder.

If I choose wisely and cast them correctly, then…

Every question I ever pose will be answered by The Truth.

Every question I ever pose will be answered by The Truth.

Let that sink in for a while.

Steven Wright use to tell a joke:

“I was playing poker with a deck of Taro Cards. I got a full house and the other 3 guys died.”

That’s how serious this conundrum is to me.

What price do we pay for certainty, by placing our trust in divination?

What price do we pay for certainty, by placing our trust in divination?

What price do we pay for certainty, by placing our trust in divination?

If you didn’t see it, that was me tossing The Coin 3 times in search of answers to these questions.
